  1. My home district is in the townland of Lahard and in the parish of Killeshandra. There are twelve families living in the townland. The number of people is sixty two. There are five slate houses and six thatched. There are six people over seventy. They know no Irish. They can tell stories in English. The population of the district was more numerous in former times but some emigrated to America. The land is hilly, boggy and part of it is good. There are no woods now.
