    Good evening to you all my boys, I am glad to see you well

    This song was composed by a man named John Cooke who lived in Arvagh almost seventy years ago.

    Good evening to you all my boys,
    I am glad to see you well,
    Kindly pay attention of noble deeds I tell.
    It is of the Arva leaguers who lately had some sport,
    They banded in a regiment defending Mulligan's fort.
    (2)
    There were Jannet, Jones, and Moody and Reilly from the bog
    Mulligan, Sullivan, Patrick Hamill, Calders and the dog,
    One eyed Sheridan, Short legged Cullan. Prior and the goat,
    And the gallant boys from Arva who defended Mulligan's fort.
