  1. There is a house near Losset near Arva and the fire is in the centre of the floor. There is a hole in the roof for the smoke to go through. The fires are mostly in the corner of the house and the front of the fires are made of clay and wattles.
    Long ago the methods employed for giving lights at nights were dips, rushlights and candles. Candles were made locally. First the people went out to the fields and gathered a pule of rushes. These, they hung up over the fire until they were dry. Then they peeled them and put them into grease. Then the
