  1. Long ago people believed very much in superstitous and in false gods. They also had days on which they foretold certain things would happen, and these usually came true.
    They believed that people should never flit on Saturday, because "Saturday's flitting is short sitting. If we plant garlic on a Good Friday it is sure to cure a cold and if we cut some of our hair on that day it will grow twice as long within the twelve months.
