    a "Spade Guinea", which he had been carrying in his mouth, down on a stone close by John.
    The rat continued coming and going till he had placed 14 gs, in the pile. As he was nearing the pile with the 15th.. john could contain himself no longer, he lifted a stone and shied it at the rat.
    The latter dropped the one he was carrying and scurried off. John collected the 14 peices, but in spite of the most diligent search the fifteenth was never found.
