  1. One time there lived a wealthy old lady. She decided to buy a motor car, to carry her about in her old days. So she put an advertisement on the paper for a chaffeur.
She received three applications one from a Scotchman an English man an Irishman. She put the question as follows to each.
How near to the edge of a precipice without causing damage ?
The Englishman answered :- "I would drive as near as one foot of the edge.
The Scotchman trying to beat him I would drive as near as half a foot:-
She then turned to the Irishman Paddy replied :- :Begorra, Mam, I would keep away from it as far as I could". So she accepted him.
