  1. No. 7. Four Willing Servants
One Summer Eve I chanced to stray
    Through verdant paths where feathered
    songsters play.
    I sat close by a purling river-side
When soon my eyes a lovely maiden spied
Four willing servants I perceived she chose
Who wrought untiring to provide her clothes
So friendly were they while I was in view
That every time they met they gave a kiss, or two
Now this is true & by experience tried
That every time they met the Gordian knot
    they tied.
    Ans - 4 Knitting needles.
    No. 8.
Adam and Eve came down this way.
To inspect the ladies' costumes of to-day.
Said Adam to Eve my dear there is not
much change since we were here.
Adam and Eve came down this way
To inspect the ladies' costumes of to-day
Said Adam to Eve. "I think my dear
there's not much change since we were here".
