game a card fell on the floor and when the maid stooped to pick it up she saw that the stranger had a cloven foot. She screamed and in a moment the man, whom people say was an evil spirit, disappeared through a crack in the floor. The crack had not been there previously and can be seen to this day.
This house is supposed to be haunted. Many people say that they have heard bells ringing and other weird sounds in it at night. A black man was often seen at the black gate on the avenue at night. This man is supposed to be the notorious Thomas Plunket.
