    It was baked in front of the fire on the hearth standing on a grid-iron. It used to be baked very hard. It was good for the teeth.
    4. Boxty dumplings was made like boxty and was rolled into round balls and was boiled in a pot.
    5. Oaten porridge was made with oaten meal and sugar boiled in water. This was eaten with butter.
    6. Indian porridge was made like oaten porridge.
    7. Bruisy was made with mashed potatoes mixed with salt.
    8. Colcannon was made with boiled potatoes which were peeled and mashed together. This was eaten with butter.
