Celandine or pile wort as it is called is used to cure piles or haemorrhoids.
Chick-weed is used to reduce swelling caused by a wrench or sprain.
Hemlock a poisonous herb is also used to take down a swelling. The herb is boiled and the affected part bathed with the liquor.
