- Sciatica . A small raw potato put in cloth & tied round the neck. If constantly worn either this way or in pocket in shirt no trace of pain is felt.

- Cure of severe bleeding from cut or other wound. Bleeding ceases curer blesses himself waves his hand towards bleeding & says three times

And washed in river Jordan
And as Christ says you shall
Stop this blood"
