- (continued from previous page)There are two fairy forts in Druninbawn. One of these is in on Patrick Smith's land and is called "Paddy's fort". The other is on Matt Reilly's land and is called 'Matt's fort'.
These forts are in view of one another, and they have a fence of clay around them.
'Smith's fort', has no entrance hole, but there are several holes on 'Matt's fort'. There is a cave in 'smith's fort', and it is said that three men dreamt three times of a crock of gold being hidden in it, but they never ventured down into the hole. They were afraid of the foul- air.
The people who lived on the land never interfered with these, until Patrick Smith came
