    When goats come home from the fields and when there is fog on the mountain, and a blue blaze from the fire and a terrible heat, those are the signs of rain.
    If the weather comes good with the new moon, the people say that the weather shall be good the first quarter.

    The rooks have a peculiar flight.
    The smoke whirls in different directions.
    The moon is looking clouded with a ring round it.
    The farther the ring, the nearer the rain.
    When the fog or mist, rises up off Slieve Glagh mountain, it is a sign of good weather.
