  1. The people of this district started to wear boots about the age of six or seven years in olden times. There are no accounts of people who never wore boots or shoes. At present the children go barefooted during the summer, but not during the winter. The water used for washing the feet is thrown out after use. There are no customs or beliefs connected with it. Boots are repaired locally. There are no shoe-makers in the district, but there are cobblers. Clogs were worn in the district in olden times. They are worn now. Leather was never made in this district at any times.
