The dinner consisted of potatoes, vegetables and buttermilk. For supper they had porridge and buttermilk and sometimes potatoes. People sat around a table in the middle of the floor while eating. Noggins and porringers were used before cups became common. On Easter Sunday there would be a bet to see who would eat the
