  1. Mr Burrows was the landlord in this district. The family lived in Stradone for about 300 years. They were looked upon as good landlords. There were few evictions or plantings during their time. When Cromwell came to Ireland he took possession of large districts and placed these men as landlords in them. Tithes were not collected in this district but very big rents were collected. Any tenant who would not pay the rent was evicted. There were no battles fought on account of them.
