  1. About thirty years ago, Mr Phil Leddy, Coraweelis, Poles P.O. Cavan was coming home from "a cayley" in a neighbour's house. In this district a visit paid to a neighbour's house at night is called a "cayley". Mr Leddy had only a short distance to travel. Having left the neighbour's house he went "astray" and travelled all night. At daybreak he found himself three miles from Butlersbridge, a distance of fifteen miles from his home.
N.B. It is believed by the old people in this district that if a person crosses the grave of an unbaptised person, he will go "astray". Another superstition is as follows:- When a person knows he is going "astray" he should turn his coat inside out. If he does so he will find his way home.
