  1. About eighty years ago a man and a girl from this locality bought a pig in Kilnaleck. It was night as they were returning home. The man carried the pig in a creel. As they walked along the man felt something pulling at the creel ans the girl thought she saw something walking behind them.
    They arrived home and put the pig in a box in a corner. They said the rosary but the pig roared terribly during the prayers and he continued this every night. Then the man decided to drown the pig. He brought the pig to a bog and threw him in a hole. He sank down but almost immediately a little animal like a rabbit jumped up and ran off into a fort near by
