  1. People used rush candles long years ago. When people were making them they got a rush and took the green cover off it and kept the white part. They reddened the tongs in the fire and put some tallow on a plate. They melted the tallow with the tongs. Then they got the white part of the rush and dipped it in the tallow. They got the candle stick and put in their rush candle in it. They used to leave the candle stick on the floor. It was three feet and a half tall. It gave light to all the
