    Once a man named John Leddy was reaping corn one moonlight night...

    Once a man named John Leddy was reaping corn one moonlight night when there came a man and began to rep along with him. When they were finished John went home, but as he was going home he lost his eyesight.
    At last he got to his home, When he got there he could not find the door but he recieved his sight again and went into his house and went to bed.
    When he got up the next morning and went to the oatsfield there was only every other ridge cut.
