    they put clay in one, water in another and a ring in another. If you put your finger in the saucer containing the clay it is said you will die during the year. If you put your finger in the one containing the water it is said you are going to cross water. If you put your finger in the one containing the ring it is said you are going to be married during the year.
    It is also said that after midnight there are spirits and fairies out all night after.
    At Hallowe'en people have nuts and apples, Apple cakes, boxty, and barn-bracks. In the streets people let off squibs and other fireworks.
