  1. There are various farm and domestic animals. Here is a list of them, cows, horses, ponies, donkeys, goats and jennets. We have no cows ourselves but my uncle has four, and every one of them have names. He calls one of them Gilroy because he bought her of a man named Mr Gilroy. He calls another one McGovern and the other one The Old Cow. He calls the other one The Heifer. When driving the cows in or out the word used is go on and when they want them to stop the word used is trush. The cows are kept in the cowhouse, which is called the byre, during the winter.
    There are wooden stakes built into the wall in the byre and each one of the cows
