  1. Burning of Lime: Lime was burned in a kiln at Catt a mile outside Cavan by Mr. Hill.
    Snuff: Snuff was made from tobacco stalks by the man who made the candles.
    Tobacco: The same man also made tobacco on a tobacco loft in Cavan.
    Sprigging: Sprigging industry was carried on for years in Cavan, by girls and women. That was each got a web four or five yards long with fancy cutwork on it used for all fancy dress work.
    Cabinet-making: Cabinet-making was extencively carried on in Cavan by Mr. John McClintick. All classes of furniture such as wardrobes, chains, presses, sofas and other things made of wood.
