There was a man named Paddy Edwards who lived here in the year 1877. At Deggan Fort (beside) this school he met a fairy in the month of July. Paddy caught him and asked for a crock of gold. The fairy lifted a spade and filled a bag that Paddy had: the bag was so heavy that when he was coming into Deggan Lane, he looked into it, but all that was in it was clay.
