(drawing)About the month of June the spraying takes place. First of all a barrell of water is got into which eight lbs. of bluestone and ten lbs. of washing-soda are put. When they are well mixed together in the barrel, the wash is sprayed on the potato stalks and leaves by means of a sprayer carried on a man's back. This is done sometimes two or three times. About the month of April the shoveling of the potatoes takes place. About the month of July the digging of the potatoes takes place. Sometimes the people help to gather the potatoes. To dig the potatoes first of all the stalks are pulled and left one side. Then the potatoes are dug with(continues on next page)- Collector
