  1. Our house is fairly old. It is situated in the townland of Crossforts. The gable end is facing the road. There are two rooms in it and a kitchen. The fire is along the side wall.
We use sticks and turf. The chimney is made of wood, and mortar round the bottom. I never heard of a house having no chimney. There is no account of houses having no glass. The half door is made of wood. All houses in the district have half doors. There used to be a settle bed in our house. We don't use it now.
