  1. One night a man went a "céilidhe" to a neighbour's house. When he was going home it was very dark. He asked his neighbour to leave him down by the old ruins, as he did not like to go by them on such a dark night.
His neighbour brought a lantern with him. Down the road they saw a
ban-shee running, and crying in a mournful wail. As she drew near them, one of the men shone the lantern in her face. That night when this man came home he went to bed. That night was his last on earth.
This story was told me by my father.
