  1. One dark winter's night my father was coming home from Ballyhaise, when he saw a Ban-shee a few yards before him. It began to cry and my father felt afraid. She was a small woman dressed in white. My father stood a long time to let her go away. She kept on crying. A long time after she went away and my father went home then. A few nights after he heard of a girl's death.
My father told me this story.
