  1. My father told me this story. There was a man named Frank Flanngan, and he drank. He got very poor and into debt. He did not know what to do for the want of money, so one night while he was going home he wished the Divel would send him money, and as he walked through a dark part of the lane a light shone in the middle of the lane and he saw a purse of money. He picked it up and found it full. Just then a voice said "Have you got enough now?" "Yes" said Frank I have with God's Blessing." As he said that, his wrist was gripped by a hand, and the purse was shaken out of it. The marks of five fingers were on his wrist till he died He gave up drinking after that.
