  1. Holy Wells
Written by Bridie Hennessey Cornavany Castletara
Collected from Mrs Hennessy Cornavany Castletara Cavan.
There is a holy well in Mc Colums field. It is in the parish of Castletara. This well cures sore eyes. The people bathe their eyes with the water. This well sprung up itself. There was no saint killed at this well. There is no relics on offerings left at the well.
The McColums used the water out of the well. Nothing happened them when they used the water. There is a bush beside the well.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
