    The foregoing sentimental ditty was written during the end of O'Connel's 'regime', probably in pre-famine years. One person puts the date at 1840, and gives the author as an individual named William Evans, a lover of wandering, but at this particular time in doubt, whether to marry his love in Drumlane or to haste away. It is said he married & stayed on
    'air' of the Knights of Drumlane.
