   For his breed it is very well known.
   He was bred of 'a shake' called the 'Deeler',
   That was 'stole' from the County Tyrone
   Ye all heard of the "Uashes"
   A Better rate never was bred
   And that was the breed by the mother
   This skake the Kildallon Brown Red.

   This cock was a blue bottomed "Burchoen" (blue colour)
   He was long and right straight in the "rein"
   His "hattle" was rather a pilley
   He was fit for the Monaghan "main"
   He was matched with a Leitrim pilley
   That was held in greatest esteem
   He fought at the 'main' in Drumreilly
   And anon there, its plain to be seen.
