  1. Old Ruins
There is an old ruined castle not very far from my house. It is called Clough Oughter castle. It was built for Owen Roe and his soldiers over three hundred years ago. There is no one living in it for the last two hundred years.
the castle is situated in the middle of Lough Oughter.
The town lands that surround it are Drumany-Rahan, Derena, and Ennisconnell. It is the barony of Lower-Lough-Lee in the county of Cavan.
There is an under-ground passage from it to Ennisconnell in which Owen Roe's stables are built.
