  2. Until the famine shops were scarce in the district. I have been told that no groceries were sold in country districts until after that time and then in very small quantities.
    People went to the nearest village or big town in this case to Enniskillen, to buy their wants.
    ''Pat the Shop'' as he was called had the first country shop in this district.
    A story is told of an old woman who sent an order at Christmas to Pat the Shop with a dozen of eggs as payment. The order was 1/2 of 1/2 oz tea 1/3 of 1/4 lb of sugar, 1/2 of 1/4 stone of flour and 1/2 oz of tobacco
