    In my father's early days a travelling woman taking the near cut from Florencecourt to Swanlinbar called at our house near the mountain foot.

    to a beautiful castle where a wonderful feast was ready and all the fairies were seated at it. The woman would take nothing no matter how they forced her. At daybreak she found herself sitting on the "Play-bank" where she had sat down to rest the evening before just when the warrior appeared. She came back to my father's house and told what had happened but from that day till the day she died she never spoke any more about it.
