  1. The local patron saint is Saint Mary. No person of the district knows why this saint was chosen to be patron saint, because there has never been a saint born here.
    Neither, are there any holy wells or, churches or even legends connected with Saint Mary.
    There are three places in the district called after the local patron saint :- Saint Mary's Preysbetery, where the parish priest resides, Saint Mary's Hall, where the local dances are held, and Saint Mary's church. There are no special days set aside for devotion to Saint Mary.
