  1. On the 6th February 1923 the Republicans attacked Ballyconnell. They burned three houses one to the ground and the others were badly damaged.
    Two shop assistants in Ballyconnell were shot and another wounded. The bodies of those two boys were buried on the same day. As the funeral went to the Church large numbers of people followed it.
