On this page

There are two forges in this district:- Mr Burns' and Mr. Mc Avinue's. They shoe horses and make ploughs and spades.
In the forge the blacksmith uses an anvil, a hammer, an axe, a knife and a chisel. Long ago there was an old forge in Rakeelan. Mr. Michal Mills worked in it. He used to shoe asses and make nails and hammers. He was the only blacksmith in the district at that time.
