  1. The name of the landlords around this district was Finlay.
    There were three brothers of them, David, Thomas and Francis Finlay.
    Francis Finlay was looked upon as a bad landlord, but some say that landlords would not commit cruel deeds if their agents had not to force and compel them.
    The three Finlay brothers bought out townlands, and each of them collected the rent for his own townland or townlands.
    A story is told of Sir Francis Finlay. Here it is.
