    The townland in which the school stands is called Alt a' Chuilinn - the Glen of the Holly.

    Alt a' Iubhair - The Glen of the Yew
    Alt na Darach - The Glen of the Oak
    Alt an Riascáin - The Glen of the swamp or marsh

    Alt Bréan - The Glen of the mud or dirt. It is situated along a low swampy muddy part of the Cladach River.

    Ath na nGualainn - The Ford at the shoulder - a ford at a corner or shoulder of the mountain.

    Lug-na-dTorc - The Glen or Hollow of the Wild Boar
    Tulaigh-Loch-Finn - The Height or Hill of Finn's lake
    Tulaigh-Dairín = The Hill of the little Oak
