    1. Candlelmas Day bright and clear brings two winters in the one year.
    2. All the months of the year curse a fair February.
    3. February puff and blow fills the ditches full of snow.
    Local Beliefs;
    1. The wind blowing from Ballinamore is a sign of rain.
    2. If the Crane flies up the river (towards the Cuilcagh Mountains) it is a sign of fine weather. But if she flies down the river it is a sign of rain and heavy floods.
    3. In summer and autumn when one flood comes three come in a short time.
    4. A cat sitting with her back to the fire is a sign of snow.
    5. A dog eating grass is a sign of rain.
