  1. The people in olden times never wore shoes. Some of them wore sandals, which they get from hides of animals. There are not many peopple in this locality who never wore shoes in former times.
    Ellen Tagant of Kilnavart never wore shoes that is the only one in this district. There are two shoemakers in this district. Their names are John McGinn of Derrycassion and Robert Kells of Ballymacgovern. Nearly all the children go barefotted in Summer. Some of the children do not go barefooted in Summer, they wear sandals. People suffer from corns mostly in the Summer time. They are very disagreeable.
