  1. There are many customs performed at different times of the year. On the first day of May some people put branches of trees in out houses to bring good luck. Often people put a horse shoe over a door to bring luck. Black cats are supposed to be lucky also.

  2. Sometimes you would often see a horse shoe decorated with fancy paper hanging inside people's doors. It is supposed to bring good luck.
    At Christmas people put holly, berries and mistletoe in the windows. At Christmas and Easter people - often get post cards with black cats on them which are for good luck.
    The Sunday before Easter Sunday is called Palm Sunday and people often carry a piece of a Palm tree in their hands when going to church.
