  1. There is one fort in my townland. It is situated in a hallowed place. There is no other fort to be seen from it as there is a hill on each side of it. It is shaped like a smoothing iron and a clay ditch all round with bushes growing on the ditch. There is also a river running close beside it.
    About a mile and a half away there is another on which is on Tom McGovern's land. It is situated on an island and is shaped round. It is surrounded by a stone ditch which was built securely. There is one fort in Gortmore and two in Moher Coob.
    The one in Gortmore was surrounded by trees which have now fallen and are lying on the grass decaying. One of the forts in Moher is surrounded by copper coloured trees all the same height.
