  1. I heard this story from John McGoldrick Altcrock, Corlough, County Cavan. Once upon a time a young couple were going to get married. (she) The girl held a secret. Before she got married she intended to tell the boy the secret. At last she told him the secret ''My father was hanged'' she said ''and that is a great shame to me''. ''Ah that is no shame'' said he ''because it was my father that hanged your father''
    So the two of them got married and lived happy ever after.
