  1. There is a churn at my home. It is about fifty years old. It is about three feet high, and one and a half feet broad.
The sides are round. Butter is made twice a week. My brothers, father and mother, do the churning.
Sometimes strangers who call in help with the work.
They would have to take a "brash" in case they would bring away the butter. It takes about forty minutes for the churn to do. The churning is done by hand. The churn dash is moved upwards and downwards.
The butter gathers in lumps on the lid of the churn when it is done.
