  1. There is a fort in the town-land of Killycarney, Blacklion, Co. Cavan.
    It is a round shape, and there is a ditch round it. There are trees inside the ditch, and there are whins in the centre of the fort. Nobody has ever interfered with it.
    There is a hole in the centre, but nobody ever went down to explore.
    There is an old story that all the trees round it sprang up in one night. Long ago people thought the fairies lived in it, and would not pass it late at night.
