  1. During the time of the Land League a man in Ballinaglera named Tom Brady took a neighbours farm. He was boycotted and had to go to Dromahair for all his goods with an ass and cart and the people used to follow him with drums and horns. They pulled off the meal and flour and tramped it on the road. Here is a little song concerning him.
July the eight, I'll mind that date, now and for ever more, to see eight hundred pipers march by Lough Shore,
And when they came to Drumkeeran a cry rose in the air.
To see Tom Brady and his ass and cart on their way from Dromahair.
They marched him on to Dowra town and formed into a ring.
"Shouting, "Peter Tareaway surrender to the king",
"I will indeed" says Peter, "and its for a noble cause."
"And to hell with Tommy Brady and all his crooked laws".
