We have learned that the meaning of the Irish word Beannacha Ruadh is "Red Heights" but my teacher has suggested that it might possibly mean the "Druids' Height (Beann na nDruadh) as the Druids' Altar, mentioned in the previous note, lies in a field bordering the townland.Kitty Griffin
