  1. Local Place Names.
    Chapel so called because there was a chapel situated on part of the land now occupied by Mr James Kavanagh's farm.
    Some ruins of the chapel are still there.
    Chapel Redcross
    It is situated on Mr Wheatley's land in Redcross.
    The Priest's Field, So called because mass was said in it during the Penal time.
    A well on Mr Kelly's farm at Ballydonnell is called St. Patrick's Well. It is supposed to be a blessed well to which people used to come on special occasions. It was the custom to tie a bit of ribbon on a little bush which grows over the well.
